I am a 16 with a baby and its time for me to start thinking about college. I want to go to a school called Atlanta Area Tech for cosmetology. I need advice. Can I being buy my self afford a 2 bedroom while i’m in college or should I settle for 1?

You will be lucky to be able to pay rent. Do you have a wealthy man supporting you?

Probably one, where I come from it’s $600+/mo for a 2 bedroom. It would be difficult to work enough to afford a 2 bedroom AND be in college, when would you sleep?

It’s really up to you though if you can handle the responsibility about a baby I think you can have the responsibility of having enough money to afford school, house, and and a baby

Think about this! ….. Cosmetology is going to earn you what? about 200 a week if you’re lucky? Now that’s good part time pay but you’re gonna be working probably 45 or 50 hours a week for it! Why not finish high school and go to a real college or university and get a degree that is going to allow you to make a decent living!?

I see by the thumbs down that someone doesn’t think that education will result in a decent paying profession! I really feel sorry for that person.

I definitely would settle for 1 since taking care of your child, going to class, and paying rent are going to be major parts of your life.

If you do decide to attend a university, oftentimes the campuses have married-student/family housing with low-cost child care and cheap university housing options.

One step at a time. Baby’s needs and GED or high school diploma first. Then worry about the house or apartment.

PS: Your name is spelled wrong… it’s "college". GED priority!!
