My friends and I are college students and are considering getting an apartment for the next school year. If we got a 2-bedroom, 1-bath apartment and I got a room to myself, while they shared how much more rent should I pay then them? And what if it was a 2-bd, 2bath and I got a bathroom to myself?
This depends on you guys really. But if you want a good rule of them to go by, you pay 40% while they pay 30% each. Maybe a little more on your part. But it all depends on you guys.

For a 2 bedroom; the rent would be in half; the utilities would be divided in thirds. If you have half the sleeping space to yourself, you should be expected to pay half the rent.

You should pay more since you get a bedroom to yourself and how much more will be between you and your friends. The utilities should be equally split.
