I intend to move to Mountain View California (from NJ). I want to know what I should expect to pay for a 2 Bedroom apartment.
Mountain View has some serious ghetto areas, they are about 1500 a month, but mostly all section 8 type people.
Try Cupertino, much better, close and they have exceptional schools.
Look at Craigslist

Welcome!!
Mountain View has good and bad areas the price can range from $1300 to over $2000. You can go south to Sunnyvale or Santa Clara (same price range) if you go north to Palo Alto or Redwood City you will find large gaps between the nice areas and the trashy areas.
Good luck on the house hunting and let me know if you have any questions.

I found 238 2BR in Mountain View using Cazoodle Apartment Search.

Here’s a Mountain View property asking $1485 for 2 bedroom:

From what I’ve seen this is at the lower end of the 2 bedroom price range there, and you can easily pay more depending on what you’re looking for. As a previous answer mentioned, Craigslist gives a reliable rental range in the area. Here are their MV listings: http://sfbay.craigslist.org/search/apa/sby?query=mountain+view&minAsk=min&maxAsk=max&bedrooms=&neighborhood=35
Right now 2 BR listings start around $1400 and go up from there to $1700+
Hope this helps!
