What is the law on how many people can live in a 2 bedroom 2 bath home?

November 15th, 2009 | by admin |

Is it legal for 2 couples, one with a 2 year old child and one with a newborn to live in a 2 bedroom 2 bath house? (so, 4 adults, a toddler, and a newborn) We live in Nevada, if that makes a difference.

In many states there are limits but I looked all over for Nevada and found nothing. If this is a rental, the landlord will know what is acceptable and let you know.

there are no structured laws about houses. in apartments there are rules for fire safety, and the apartment is liable. since you are in a house, you are liable for yourself, hence the laws in apartments don’t apply to a house. so feel free to fill your house with as many people as you deem fit to help with whatever financial needs you have.

i live in las vegas, so im pretty confident in my answer. i rented and now own my house, and the rules only applied when i was renting an apartment. if you’re renting your home, just let your landlord know the situation and that you will be the responsible party if there is a fire related injury.

If you own the house, you can stick the entire line up for the NY Yankees in the house if you feel like it.

If you rent it, you should ask the landlord, but it is fine.

I know someone who is renting a small house and it has 2 couples each with 2 kids. 8 people in all.
