We go to school at McGill, so we would like to be within 25 min walking distance.
We want to rent, not buy.
Our budget is 1600 a month.

Since the amount and difficulty of the work are not well-defined, go for $15 per hour. If you have carpet and hard floors to do plus heavily soiled baths and kitchen, expect to spend five or six hours doing it right. And, please, do it right.

Depending on how new, whether or not you want to be right by the T, if you need a parking spot, and where in the city you’ll want to be. The nicer, safer areas are obviously going to be more expensive. In Southie, you could probably spend about $1600/month, while if you wanted to be right in the city or in Brookline, you’ll be paying more like $2300/month.

Good luck with that one. There are not many landlords that will allow dogs. The ones that do usually are filled with other dog owners and thus the place smells. One bedroom places are not that big in Chicago so you might find having 2 medium sized dogs a little tight. You will need to make around $25-$30k per year.

It’s more about how much power is being output to the speakers and what the speakers can handle. But since you mentions "cheaper brand", I don’t suspect you’re trying to push 200 watts to each of your speakers. I’d probably go with 14 or 16 gague wire. The best way to estimate it would be to call the utility companies and ask them to give you an average for that residence. When we moved into our current house, I asked each utility company for an average, and they told me based on the last tenant. Then I used everything very conservatively until I found out what our bills would actually be.
