I had my neighbor come over to ask me if I could clean her house on sat. She told me to let her know how much I want to charge. It’s 2 bedroom 2 bath 1100 square feet with 4 cats. I have no idea what to charge because shes very nice and I want to be fair. Please help!!!

Charge her by the hour but make sure she makes it very clear what she wants you to clean and what she doesn’t. Write it down so you know what to do and she knows what to expect. Dusting, vacuuming and thoroughly cleaning the bathroom is standard. Kitchen cleaning is ok unless it’s a disaster and there’s a weeks worth of dishes. Litter boxes might be a problem because 4 cats is a bit much. Be clear and specific.

A few words of advice: Do not purchase a time share. It is not "worth it" and if you do purchase one, it’s almost impossible to sell it.

My 2 bedroom apt will be 719 sq ft so is it too small for 2 cats?
I’m living in USA and they will pound any stray cats! My cats are strictly indoor cats and they will be easily killed or hurt if I get them outdoors. Keeping them outdoors is a horrible opition!

No, not at all!

Cats don’t need big spaces, they just like to climb up really. I think they’ll be just fine. My Uncle just bought a one bedroom house and it is TINY! It’s about the size of a one bedroom apartment, really small for a house. But his two cats still have room to play and stuff.

My suggestion would be to call the gas company, describe your situation, and ask for a ballpark figure. The monthly cost depends on your location, the time of year, the square footage of the apartment, how well it’s insulated, how warm you want to keep it, whether there’s a gas stove and/or a gas water heater, and perhaps some other factors I haven’t thought of.

Some gas companies have yearly plans so you can pay the same level amount each month, rather than paying enormous bills during the winter and practically nothing during the summer.

I heard some people saying they can ‘convert’ a 1 bedroom apartment into 2 bedrooms. How do they do that? Build a wall down the middle? Often I see an ad for rent like "2Bedroom Converted Apartment". How would you split a 1BR into 2BR while still maintaining privacy?

It can be done, but probably shouldn’t be if you’re going to be renting it out, and not using it yourself. There wouldn’t be enough space. I’ve seen some closets actually turned into rooms with a lot of work and creativity, but it depends on the size. If you’re looking to create a seperate space for yourself, consider doing something non permanent and interesting, like using dividers or screens to semi block off the area. A good thing to do it take the dimensions of the room, draw it out, copy it, and play around with lighting and placement of furniture. It will give you a good idea of what would work and let you play around with options without breaking your back.
In my house, the advertised it as "3 bedrooms". I have 2 downstairs, and the whole area upstairs is my room. I toook half of it though, the area near the stairs that has good lighting, and turned it into a reading area. I haven’t quite figured out how to semi block it off yet, but it seems seperate, and if I wanted to sell, I would be ok with selling it as a 3 bedroom plus office area.
If you own the place, you can do whatever you want. I’ve considered changing a closet into built in shelf space to make things more accessible, and make it seem like having more space.

There are six people living in a 2 bedroom trailer. The grandparents have one room, their son and one granddaughter sleep on the couches in the living room and their other granddaughter shares the other room with her 2 month old son.
Location is Bureau County, Malden Illinos
I’m not a nosy neighbor either, I’m family to them and I’m just trying to make sure that they’re not going to get introuble.

The general standard is 2 people per bed room + 1 child under 2 yrs. You would have to check with your local housing authority to see what your local occupancy law is.

That would be breaking most occupancy laws but there is not anything you can do about it unless you are their landlord or something. If you are simply a neighbor than there is really nothing you can do about it and this is really none of your business.

EDIT: Sorry – I just said that because 90% of people that ask this kind of question are people that try to police their neighbors & want to report everyone for evey little thing they think they are doing wrong.

If they own the trailer then they should not get into any trouble. Nobody goes around to random properties & checks if people are following the occupancy laws. The only way they would have problem is if someone reported them.

Depends on how many people live there and how often they are home.I would say no more than 2,000 kWh,probably between 1,000-2,000 and between $100.00-$200.00 per month,depending on how much you pay per kWh!

Hi, i have two beds, 2 rooms downstairs and kitchen plus bathroom. I have combi boiler with central heating and for hot water but i have electric shower, also gas hob and electric oven. This costs approx 80 pound per month during winter and approx 30 per month during summer. I have changed to pre pay meters for both as this tells you accurately what you spend and also makes you more conscious to save energy, as you can see your money being used. Im pretty sure that you can change to these meters for free if you prefer !

when originally TNHB developed flats, they constructed very small portions. now the area became prominent and the affordability of owners of TNHB apartments also improved a lot.

the children of the owners of TNHB apartments also grownup and they are in need of additional space. the quality of construction of TNHB flats is also poor.

if the owners want to build additional space they have to shell out a huge sum.

here builders come to the rescue of owners by offering to reconstruct the buildings with additional space without charging them as the excess area to be built up over the owners requirements will be sold and realised by builders.

so contact your association president for further details. your interest will be safeguarded by builders. dont worry.

Typically, 2 BR has the greatest demand for rentals and the best returns for landlords. 3BR, especially in a lower income neighborhood, is going to get families with too many kids for their income. Check your Certificate of Occupancy for limits on number of people who can reside in the unit. And owners can restrict it further. For example, you could stipulate a maximum occupancy of 4 persons (e.g. 2 parents + 2 kids, or single parent with 3 kids). Or take applications and make sure you check references for not just on-time rent payments, but any problems with noise, damage to unit, children being left unsupervised, etc.
