Recently a burglar climb into my son’s bedroom window while my daughter and I were getting ready early in the morning. My purse was taken by this person. What type of person is this that breaks in while the residents are there. We weren’t aware that someone broke in until we couldn’t find my purse and the window was unlocked.

A burglar who knew where your purse would be…………..

i’m wondering if there is a width or length steps have to be to be safe, and to be up to code in apartments or homes. I don’t know that there is but if any contracters or someone could let me know, that would be great!

yes there are building codes every where for stairs. Ideally your rise ( step to step) should be around 7 1/2 inches. The width of the stair tread needs to be around 11 or 12 inches. Also if it is a apartment building the requirements for the width of the stair well may be different than those of a house. You need th check with your local building authority to find out what the exact measurements are in your area.

I am trying to find apartments and rental homes around Denver, Colorado. I can find quite a few apartment sites but not many for rental homes. Does anybody have a good site they know of that would help me out?
(not craigslist either)

The newspaper used to be the one and only site. You can at least check it. Beyond that you can drive around and look for for rent signs but craiglist really is the best place to go (at least where I live).

I think it is cheaper to buy a foreclosure. You can buy foreclosures really cheap now. Your payment will be about the same for rent. Another benefit of buying a foreclosure would be the tax write off.

It gives information about you because how it looks is a reflection of your personality. If you have video games, people will think you are a gamer. If you have a ton of expensive antiques, they will think you are rich. If your place is a mess, they will think you are a slob. The list goes on filling in differently for each person’s personality.

I’m turning an apartment bedroom into a home studio and if I am playing and recording late at night I do not want to bother neighbors. How can I go about sound proofing such a room in the most effective way. Product suggestions and installation techniques would be helpful. Thanks!

This is an answer that someone called "xoxia" posted about 5 years ago. It sounds like a real adaptable way to go. Especially if you ever need to use the room as a bedroom:

my husband sound proofs his studio aka our study when he’s recording. quite clever- he bought pvc pipe (3/4") and made frames, about 4′x8′. the frames can be broken down and stored under a bed. he used 1/4" fiberboard, drilled 2" holes randomly (this helps deaden the sound without flattening it) and glued 2" egg crate foam to it (the kind that people will put on a bed for comfort). he used clips bought at the hardware store to clip it to the frames. he sets it up into a little room ( i call it the cave) when needed and it all fits under our guest bed when stored. he also will hang furnie pads (furniture moving blankets?) over it to help with the sound. i think in the end, it cost about $50usd. good luck!
