I have to admit, when I first heard Fiery Furnaces, I didn’t really like the way they sounded, but after giving them time, they really grew on me. The singer, Eleanor Friedberger (sp?), certainly has a different voice, but I feel it suits the group well and couldn’t imagine anyone else in her place (which may be more apparent on some of their other music).
