What do you get in a part-furnished apartment?

October 31st, 2009 | by admin |

Roughly, what would you generally get in a part furnished apartment as opposed to a fully furnished?

Well a regular un-furnished apartment doesn’t have any furniture, but it will normally have a stove, a fridge, and maybe a dishwasher in the kitchen.

When an apartment is furnished, then it’s got all the furniture an average person would need – usually furniture for the dining area, living room, and bedroom at least.

Sometimes the furniture is new and matching, sometimes it’s in less great shape.

A part-furnished apartment is somewhere in between, there are no specific rules, so you would have to ask the landlord.

It depends totally on the landlord and what they are willing to furnish. Find out before signing a lease. Best Wishes!

It’s usually called a semi-furnished meaning a stove and refrigerator and if your lucky a dishwasher.

a higher rent and smoke stinking furniture.

You don’t really need much, just a futon or some $400 or less sofa or one that can double for a bed and a sofa. If you’re on the second floor and the landlord isn’t nosey then you can use a blanket or two and sleep on the rug. You’d need a lampstand and a lamp (you can borrow that from home). If you have clothes then go to walmart and buy a $35 dresser. I don’t know that they have furnished apartments as usually you can pick up a brochure at the rental office that tells you you can go to some place like Aarons that rents furniture but renting furniture is really only for people like executives who need to entertain, but you usually lose out when you have to pay their interest.

There is no general standard or list for this. You really need to check with the landlord offering it to see what is included.
