Receiving rents from another country, how do I show it on my tax paper or let the Canadian government know?
May 5th, 2010 | by admin |I will start receiving rents from 2 properties that I own, I’d like to let the government know because I will sponsor my mother to come here with that money. I only have a part-time job and I need the rent to reach the requirement for sponsors. So how do I do it? Just put it on next year’s tax paper?
Yes. You _must_, as a Resident of Canada, report all your world income.
There is a place for this on line 126 (Rental income) of the T1 return.

You fill out details and take deductions (for property taxes, etc) on form T776, Statement or Real Estate Rentals and put the totals on line 126.
